‘Jacki’ Dariusz Dziekanowski inducted into the Hall of Fame visited Bristol and collected his cap from the club at the match Bristol City – Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Arnor Sigurdsson and Scott Wharton important win is 8th in the Sky Bet Championship table .
Being on Saturday that day I watched a very good encounter at the Bristol City Stadium at Ashton Gate a good game Bristol City had some good action in the first half and then still in the second half on this day the hosts played a very good meeting and began to attack from the beginning , until the end , you can see that this day they want to show well at home in the stadium and they cared because they knew that if they win this match they get closer to a good place in the table for the playoffs , because it is just around the corner . This victory gave them eighth place in the league table .
Thanks to a spectacular free kick made by attacking midfielder Scott Twine after 12 minutes . The attacking midfielder did a good job when the hosts, after being played in by Sinclair Armstrong, scored a goal from a free kick.
Blackburn equalised after 39 minutes through former City striker Andreas Weimann. The Austrian managed to get back into a sideline position after his teammate hit the post and then headed past Max O’Leary into the City net.
Today Saturday as I watched the whole game to the end as the score was 1-1 a long time because , until the 77th minute we waited for the decisive goal .Bristol City played a 4-4-2 formation , while Blackuburn Rovers looked to surprise their rivals and gave the day a 4-2-2-2 formation .
It was in that minute in the 77th minute that Bristol City secured the win and scored the goal for gold with Nahkim Wells scoring past Aynsley Pears , after a bit of help from a deflection and so a beautiful goal fell in giving the final score 2- 1 and the win giving another valuable three points important for the play offs .
At half-time I went for a quick coffee and met Dariusz Dziewanowski in the VIP Room to have a few words with him and congratulate him on his induction into the Hall of Fame . The last time I saw him was in Bristol at a Charity match for superb player and striker Bristol City and Manchester City Gerry Gow and then we were able to do an interview with both players , and at the end of the match I asked for a photo on the
stadium turf after the 2016 match had finished for sure a few years ago this meeting was such a positive surprise for me especially as after a long time he had returned to Bristol it’s a long time he hadn’t been here as he played in the 90s a while ago . We all also remember him from the film ‘ Football Poker ’ where the main actor was Janusz Gajo, and he appeared there in the role of a football referee . That day the meeting was very
Stadium turf after the end of the match in 2016 for sure a few years ago this meeting was such a positive surprise for me especially that after a long time he returned to Bristol it’s a long time he was not here as he played in the 90s a bit ago . We all also remember him from the film ‘ Football Poker ’ where the main actor was Janusz Gajo, and he appeared there in the role of a football referee . That day the meeting was very
good for me as a footballer , referee and UEFA coach because I could talk to him on many topics about Football , and then we had more time to talk here and no one was in a hurry because they were here after a long time and talked that everyone , and in particular he was for a few days and played a match and then met with friends like Yaya Touré , Andy Cole , Scot Murry other famous footballers and coaches a long bench was at this Aperitif .

Dariusz Dziekanowski nicknamed ‘Jacki’ Dziewanowski here is what they called him at Bristol . As a footballer, he most often played in the striker’s position, or alternatively played as a midfielder. He began his career as a footballer with Polonia Warszawa, where he played between 1973 and 1979, and made his first league debut with Gwardia Warszawa, where he played between 1979 and 1983. Considered one of the most talented young footballers of the early 1980s, he joined Widzew Łódź in 1983 for the then high price of 21 million zlotys. In the colours of the Łódź team, he won the Polish Cup in 1985 and returned to Warsaw the same year, moving to Legia Warszawa. With the club, he won the Polish Cup in 1989 and the Polish vice-championship in 1986. In 1988, with 20 goals, he became the league’s top scorer. In 1989 he moved to Scotland’s Celtic F.C., where he played 48 league games and scored 10 goals. In 1992 he moved to English team Bristol City, where he played until 1993.
In the autumn round of the 1993/1994 season he played 6 matches in the colours of Legia Warsaw, eventually leaving the Warsaw team. Thanks to these few appearances, however, he was on the list of players who won the Polish championship that season. In 1994 he was a player for the German team Alemannia Aachen, and between 1994 and 1995 for 1. FC Köln. In the spring of 1996 he returned to Polonia Warszawa, with whom he won promotion to the first division. In the colours of this club he played a few more matches in the autumn round of the 1996/1997 season, after which he ended his football career.
With the Polish national team between 1981 and 1990, he played 63 matches and scored 20 goals. In 1986 he took part in the World Cup in Mexico. His greatest national team successes came as a junior: between 1980 and 1981 he was twice European Under-18 vice-champion.
After ending his football career, he became a commentator for television and the sports press. From 2002, he worked for the Polish Football Association as a junior national team selector, and from July 2006 to August 2008, he was Leo Beenhakker’s assistant in the Polish national team that played at the 2008 European Championships. He then returned to active commentary activities, working with Polsat Sport. In 2013, he also became a regular columnist for Przegląd Sportowy and also became a UEFA delegate.
