The match took place on November 30 at 3pm in Bristol at /stadium at Ashton Gate Bristol City picked up a much needed victory in the Cham/ionship with a 4-0 win over Plymouth Argyle on Saturday afternoon.
As with the games against Burnley and Watford, the Robins showed plenty in the first half without breaking the deadlock, but their pressure kicked in in the second half when braces from Anis Mehmeti and a goal each from Scott Twine and Sinclair Armstrong secured all three points and Bristol City won against Plymouth Argyle 4-0
The hosts started the match well, with well-executed actions
creating good chances for Nahki Wells and Zak Vyner, but neither were able to direct their shots at goal.

Bristol City scored a goal and everyone thought they had taken the lead just before the break when Mehmeti was saved by Grimshaw and Wells followed the ball and shot into the goal but only the referee raised the flag and ruled it was offside
Plymouth Aryle attacked first in the opening minutes of the second half and Ryan Hardie fired a low shot straight past the hosts’ goalkeeper O’Leary.
The Reds continued to create threatening action and tried to attack down the left wing as well as the right , and , when Rob Dickie headed straight at Grimshaw from a corner kick, before Mehmeti forced the Pilgrims’ stopper into a superb save.
A diagonal pass from Vyner was brilliantly controlled and stopped by Wells, before he put the ball out for Twine, who went very close.
Becoming an increasing problem for the visitors, Twine forced Grimshaw into another good defensive save.
The breakthrough came for Bristol City after Twine’s first shot hit the crossbar before City regained the move, finding Mehmeti, whose strike deflected off Twine and into the net.

Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle at Ashton Gate on Saturday; Scott Twine, Anis Mehmeti’s double and Sinclair Armstrong sealed a comprehensive victory over Wayne Rooney’s struggling team.
With Saturday’s victory, Bristol City moved up to 11th in the table, losing five points to a play-off place, and face a trip to Portsmouth FC at Fratton Park Stadium next week.
Wayne Rooney criticised his Plymouth Argyle players for ‘ a real lack of character and fight ’ after they lost the opening goal in a 4-0 loss to Bristol City.
