We are happy with the loss because this loss is not so high and we move on because Mexico only won against Saudi Arabia 1:2 . It was always only we played 3 matches and went home. Here we have a good situation for our national team because we don’t end our story on three matches we have 4 matches and we have a chance to play on because we can prove something to ourselves .
The Polish national football team advanced to the 1/8 finals of the World Cup in Qatar. The Poles lost 0:2 to Argentina in the 3rd round match of Group C, but advanced thanks to Saudi Arabia, who scored a goal against Mexico in added time.
Before the match against Argentina, one thing was certain. A draw was enough for the Red-Whites . If we won we would play from first place.
The beginning of the match was good, and then at the end of the meeting we had an unusual situation, Wojciech Szczesny touched, muscled the face, head of Messi, and it happened in such a weak intervention, in the fight for the upper ball, the intervention was not dangerous, that here should not be a penalty foul. However, in the 38th minute when it happened Dutch referee Danny Makkelie dictated a penalty kick for Argentina . After this intervention the referee ran to the VAR system checked all the action and made a decision and this gave him to whistle an eleven .
In the 39th minute there is a penalty and Messi and Szczęsny faced each other, and here happened a miracle over the Vistula River Lionel Messi did not use the penalty because our goalkeeper Wojtek Sczesny defended the eleven.
In the second half after the change of sides the Argentinians have a very good action in attack and in 46 ` took the lead after a goal by Alexis Mac Allister. Poland tried to hold on and came back a lot in defence and they struggled not to lose too high. Our team looked like defending Czestochowa in these situations
The result was set in the 67th minute by Julian Alvarez.
In my opinion, we are enjoying the greatest success in football, because for 36 years we have advanced to the 1/8 finals for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, exactly what was better. Of course, we should maybe take a different place in the group, because the first place would give us the opportunity to play with Australia, not with France who is strong and the world champion of 2018. We certainly have after this Mundial questions who will give us the better game and whether we will have better in the future young players because we are a good team that has a lot to prove . Let’s not have complexes let’s move forward what we are doing because we are doing a good job.
Saudi Arabia succumbed to Mexico 1:2 it was at the end of the account that this team defended itself and because it only had a better goal balance . Group C ended in the final table is Argentina (6 points) took first place and we Poland placed second with Mexico because we have the same 4 points . The fourth-placed team is Saudi Arabia, who have only earned 4 points.
The promotion of the ‘White-Red’ was decided by a better goal balance.
