BOUNCE BACK FROM THE BOTTOM. WISŁA KRAKÓW – POGOŃ SZCZECIN 1:0

Wisła Kraków finally broke the longest series of failures in the history of the club. In the struggle for maintenance, the light in the tunnel is again visible for her.

Fans of “White Star” prepared a special setting for this meeting. At the bottom of sector C they hung a banner on which they wrote: “Vulnerable zone.” At the exit of the players, the flag was presented in the form of a road sign on which it was written: “Fourth league”. The whole was completed with smoke candles. Fortunately, the wind quickly dispersed the smoke and the meeting was not interrupted.

Although the guests stayed with the ball for a longer time, nothing resulted from that – they played slowly, had no idea how to speed up the action, not to mention the danger under the rivals’ goal.

First, Maciej Sadlok shot at the goal on purpose, and after a while Chuca struck over the crossbar. At Reymont’s it smelled like a goal. And indeed, the hosts got their way – in the 39th minute Jakub Błaszczykowski had a good centre, the goal fell in unexpected circumstances. The goal was scored by Lukas Klemenz , who will be celebrating on Saturday’s birthday and will be 34 years old, the fans sang him from the “Sto lat” stand. It was the man responsible primarily for breaking up the attacks of his rivals. He took a clever shot. The grandstands woke up and started cheering the Wiślaks more and more loudly. As it turned out the result did not change until the end of the first part. Chase didn’t quibble to answer with a hit.

The White Star played against the leader maturely. They quickly tried to take over the ball and control, but they built the action without any madness. It was clear that they wouldn’t go for the crazy action or charge, that they wanted to be careful in defense first and foremost.

The second half was evenly matched and this time Wisła Kraków defended itself wisely, created good action and kept Chase at a distance, they allowed her only one accurate shot. They finished the match without losing a goal for the first time in 13 queues.

Krakow’s “White Star” club will have to pay a penalty, because at the beginning of the match the football fans fired forbidden flares.

The key password is: “finally!” The most important thing is that we broke through. We were a team from the beginning to the end of this game, we showed character. People win a lot in life when they fight and never give up, showing determination. We all prepared the team to feel strong mentally. The players got a lot of support throughout the club and were not alone on the pitch. We know where we are in the table, but the team got a good mental kick. This can only drive us to a better time of the interview, gave the coach of Wisła Kraków Artur Skowronek

I’m not happy with the result and the way we played first and foremost in the beginning, but that goes without saying. I saw that with such a series of defeats as the one Wisła had, with each match the probability increased that it would finally win. It may sound paradoxical, but it is. Our bad luck was that we played with them today. We don’t change anything in our strategy. We lost, we are responsible for it, it would be easy to complain about everything now, but my team did not deserve it. We have one more game this year and we want to say goodbye with dignity, just like the Vistula did. The ball writes such stories and it is not the first time the leader lost to the last team. We made a lot of people in Krakow happy, but for sure this wasn’t the plan of the interview wasn’t the one given by coach Pogonia Szczecin Kosta Runjaic
