Manchester United players for the first time ever won the European League. In the final at Solna near Stockholm they beat Ajax Amsterdam 2-0. Thanks to the victory they will play next season in the Champions League.

Before the game, suggestions were made for the final to be postponed, but UEFA decided to play the game at the original date. With this decision, Jose Mourinho agrees.
The meeting was preceded by a minute of silent memory of the victims of Monday’s terrorist attack in Manchester, which killed 22 people and more than 100 were injured. Manchester United players played in black armbands that day.
Both teams were weak on Wednesday. In the English team, because of injury, they paused. Famous Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Argentinean Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young and Luke Shaw, and behind the red card – Ivorian Eric Bailly.
Juan Mata played for Marouanne Fellaini in the 18th minute, and the ball went to Pogby. The Frenchman struck a 20-meter ball on the back of Davinsson Sanchez’s back and Ajak’s goalkeeper, Cameroon’s Andre Onana, had to pull the ball out of the net. After the ball was shot by Chris Smalling, a close-up shot by Henrik Henri Mancini was played.
In the 48th minute of the game a corner kick was awarded to Chris Smalling, who set up a 5-yard shot from Henri Mkhitjan and drove the ball into the net with a 2-0 lead.
The rivals did not give up, but were unable to create a serious threat at the Red Devils’ goal. The victory of the English team was practically undamaged.
In the 70th minute, it was dangerous for Manchester to play Mkhitarjan right in front of the penalty area. Hakim Ziyech came up to the ball for more than two minutes.
Thanks to the win Manchester United secured their next Champions League season. In case of defeat he would not play in this elite group, because in the English league he finished only sixth place. Ajax, who last season became vice-champion of the Netherlands, has a chance to get into the LM game by elimination.
