One game was postponed due to positive results of coronavirus tests in Slask Wroclaw. Saturday’s game with Stal Ostrów Wlkp. was cancelled and postponed. It seems that in this situation Polish Basketball League should definitely step in.
Zyskowski and Joseph did not play in this match against Anwil because . As reported by Radio Zielona Góra they feel bad, they were weakened . They were isolated from the rest of the team in order not to infect the whole team just in case. This team had a fierce and balanced meeting with Anwil. In the second quarter led even 38:33 after three-pointer by Andrzej Mazurczak.
Today I am writing about an important game is the hit of the 17th queue of Energa Basket League Zastal BC played at home against Anwil Włocławek. which took place in Zielona Gora Enea Zastal BC against Anwil Włocławek
It started 4-0 for Zastal, but next 8 points scored Anwil and in general next 5 minutes was 17-3 series for guests.
In the 7th minute after Mathews three-pointer Anwil was winning 17-7. Zastal had a problem with shots from under the basket, where Żiga Dimeć was very big. And so the first quarter started in an uncharacteristic way. If anyone thought that Polish Champions were going to be devoured, they were gravely mistaken.
Visitors jumped out to 17:7 and 19:9 lead but hosts quickly got back to the game and after the first quarter they were only 4 points behind. In the second quarter after Nemanja Nenadić three-pointer we had 27:26 lead, after Andrzej Mazurczak 3+1 run – 34:32 and after another three by Andy – 38:33.
However, just before the end of the first quarter coach Vidin’s team showed their brave side and started to make up for the loss. From that moment the game was played basket for basket and the score oscillated around a tie. At halftime Anwil was up by one point (44:43).
In the third quarter they were losing more and more energy but they kept on going. From 59:59 they lost 8 points in a row and next 6 at the beginning of the last quarter which Szewczyk opened with two threes. The score 59:73 didn’t mean anything good. But they managed to pull away to 72:75 and 79:83 with one minute and 11 seconds left.
A few days earlier American playmaker Branden Frazier left the team. His replacement has not been hired yet and even Mazurczak’s great performance does not change this need. It is hard to imagine playing regularly with only one point guard spending over 35 minutes on the floor.
Zielona Góra players lost 35-43 in rebounds and 38% in 2-point shooting. According to coach Oliver Vidin it was the second statistic that caused the defeat.
In Zastal they have something to think about and the situation in the table is getting more and more difficult. Zielona Góra players suffered seven defeats and now they have to worry about being in the top four after the round, which will give them home court advantage in the first round of play-offs.
Wloclawek has much better situation. Kyndall Dykes is playing after almost two months break caused by injury. In this meeting also Lukasz Frąckiewicz was playing on the bench. However, he is close to making his debut.
