In the game of 10th round of Energa Basket League HydroTruck Radom players lost 65:70 on their home court against Start Lublin. It was seventh home loss and eighth defeat in this season for Marek Popiołek players.
Energa Basket Liga Polski Cukier Pszczółka Start Lublin won after tough battle in Radom at the beginning of the game visitors had 7:1 lead after Tweety Carter basket. HydroTruck was closing the gap thanks to Anthony Ireland and Michael Moore but only for a while and with less than five minutes to go in the opening quarter they were losing to Start with 11:18 left. Doron Lamb kept scoring and Mateusz Dziemba added three-pointer. Hosts were still close because of players like Anthony Ireland who hit three-pointers. In the final minutes of the game Aleksander Lewandowski accurately hit from the free-throw line and that meant only two points off the bench and after 10 minutes the score was 23:25 on the board.
Lublin started the second quarter with 7:0 run and increased the gap. After a while another Lamba basket gave them 11 points advantage! Radom players were unable to keep up with their opponents in this part of the game. Dziemba’s consecutive shots made first half of the game ended with the score 31:45.
Coach Tane Spasev team started the third quarter with another run – this time 6:0 – and after Lamb’s shot they had 20 points advantage. Single plays by Danilo Ostojić and Filip Kraljević did not change much. Even when Ireland was closing the gap to 12 points, Lamb was quick to react. After 30 minutes it was 46:60.
The fourth quarter brought a lot of excitement as HydroTruck Radom started to make up for the loss in real terms. Polski Cukier Pszczółka Start on the other hand completely stopped in attack. After Aleksander Lewandowski’s play Radom players were losing only by five points! However, in the key moments Lamb and Dziemba did not fail and the team from Lublin enjoyed the victory 70:65.
