The Derby of Krakow is a unique celebration for fans from both sides of the Blonia. Unfortunately, fans of Cracovia and Wisła could not sit on the stands in the stadium at Józefa Kałuza Street on December 4th. Always when I lived in Krakow, there were big traffic jams from Focha Street, Józef Piłsudski Street or Salwatorska Street or Adam Mickiewicz Avenue and 3 Maja Street.
At that time I was a judge whether I was a trainer in other clubs in Cracow, we had big difficulties with moving around Cracow because there were “Big Derby”. Now, when there is a pandemic crown of the virus, we can see that everyone watches these great meetings of the “Derby of Krakow” on TV and there is no living soul in Krakow. The players of the “White Star” and “Belts” in this match were tired and there were a lot of mistakes on one side and on the other side in a match for such a high stake as the one won in Krakow.
In the first fragments Wisła impressed with high pressure and offensive play. In the first minute, Adi Mehremić was inaccurately headed.
In the 5th minute, Yaw Yeboah experienced a dangerous attack from the free kick, but Karol Niemczycki was vigilant in the goal and beat the ball on the corner.
Cracovia carried out an interesting and aggressive action in 35 minutes. Florian Loshaj decided to take a free shot from a considerable distance, but Mateusz Lis calmly caught the ball.
The best action of the first half belonged to Wisła. It was in the 37th minute after Jean Carlos’s throw in the penalty area of the ‘Stripes’ that there was quite a commotion, in which Michal Frydrych found himself. However, his last-minute strike was blocked by Cornel Rapa. A frameless tie was maintained until the break.
The second part showed some interesting situations how in his own penal field Adi Mehremić received the ball around his shoulder and the hosts demanded a penalty kick.
After the VAR analysis, however, judge Daniel Stefański decided that there was no “eleven”.
A more interesting situation took place in the 60th minute for the guests, where Felicio Brown Forbes was waved in the “sixteenth” Cracovia by David Szymonowicz. This time the arbiter had no doubts and the Vistula faced a chance.
The victim himself approached the ball (Felicio Brown Forbes (61′) and with a certain shot he beat the German. For Forbes is the third goal of the season. The striker of the ‘White Star’ signed up for that match.
Then a bad situation happened to the guests, namely the White Star player Felicio fouled for the second time unsportsmanlike, a very sharp foul that happened in the 67th minute, when the takeover of the ball Forbes with number 99 jumped out, he hit the face and head of the home player with number 3 with his elbow, but this time he saw a red card and left the playing area prematurely.
In 73rd minute a good action was carried out by Thiago, but he hit over the goal.
We had the next action in a moment when Sergiu Hanca tried to shoot from a distance, but he made a mistake.
They could still change the score, and such an action took place in the 78th minute and almost fell as close to the goal as possible. Filip Piszczek was the goalkeeper, but Mateusz Lis showed off his instinctive parade.
“Cracovia pushed on a goal of Vistula people to even out and such a situation happened again in 85th minute. In a penalty field he shot the ball of Hanca, and Pelle only got his head. The fox had no chance, and the Dutchman enjoyed the third goal of the season, the hosts scored 1:1 .
On the other hand, Michal Siplak was in an excellent position on the 89th minute after being cross-centred from the corner and Van Amersfoort’s rally. Cracovia’s side defender sent the ball over the goal from a few metres.
The expectations are really high. Peter Hyballa is not the first better round-up coach or a regular of the extra-class carousel, but a football theorist and a person who has his own philosophy and tries to put it into practice. Already at the first conference the German trainer announced that he intends to play offensively.
