The first day of astronomical autumn will be absolutely unique this year for Torun Gingerbread. In fact, even the British aura with its whimsies, providing in London many reasons to discuss, should give way to information about the meeting in which the legendary Corallo Kaunas will face the Polish Sugar Torun – and at the Olympic CopperBox Arena!

The meeting promises to be a great basketball holiday for the Polish and Lithuanian communities in London. The current champion of Lithuania under the leadership of the legendary Šarūnas Jasikevičius will be in the strongest squad with a whole bunch of European basketball stars. Axel Toupane, Paulius Jankūnas, Brandon Davies, Royce O’Neale, Aaron White, Vasilije Micic and well known Dee Bost and Martynas Sajus of the Polish Basketball League will be the players we will watch this season in the fight for the highest places in the Euroleague. Appearing against such a strong team will be an extremely valuable experience for the Vice-Champion of Poland. The stars are also missing on the coaching bench of Żalgiris. Šarūnas Jasikevičius can count on experience and valuable advice from Darius Maskoliunas and Darius Songaila.

For Dejan Mihevca, the meeting in London will be a very prestigious honor and for the coach himself a very sentimental trip to the place where he started his professional coaching career. Sentences will not be on the court! A direct start with such a titled opponent triggers a tremendous excitement and positive tension in every player, which, as we believe, will translate into a good and ambitious performance for our team. Hard Gingerbreads are going to London also in the strongest composition, including representatives of Poland – Aaron The Goal and Karol Gruszecki and Senegal – Cheikh Mbodym. “The Titanic” in London’s CooperBox Arena will be the penultimate and most important test of Toruń basketball players in the coming season!
