BRISTOL CITY – HULL CITY 4:2 (3 – 1), this is the kind of football you can watch.

This is the kind of football everyone wants to watch in Bristol. Scored by 18′ Riis, 32′ Mehmeti, 42′ Riis, 78′ Bird Gelhardt 3′, Joseph 90′ +3

So today I went to another match at Ahston Gate Stadium in the Championship League, and I’m at the match this weekend at 3:00 PM on this sunny Saturday afternoon. I’ll tell you, I watched some very good football from both teams that day. It’s worth noting that there was a lot going on in this match: fighting, shoving, aggressiveness, fire, and players fighting for the three points the home team earned. I also saw a few good surprise chances, and we had a lot of shots on goal on both sides. They happened more often than usual. Both teams had a shooting tournament on both sides. Anyone could have been in this match.

Moreover, it was the last match of the summer, as they played on August 30th. Unfortunately, the children are going back to school in September, and we’ll have increasingly colder evenings and won’t have the sunshine we used to have every day during the holidays, which is a shame.

Let’s hope we’re lucky with the weather, because I think September or October, or until the end of this year, the weather will be mixed, but the weather might surprise us yet, and let’s hope we’re lucky, with sunshine.

If not, we’ll be stuck with this English weather, meaning rain, rain, and no one wants that, and let’s hope it stays good until the end of the year.

The visitors took the lead in the third minute when, after a missed Rob Atkinson cross, David Akintola played it past and passed it to Joe Gelhardt, who deftly beat the onrushing goalkeeper Radek Vitek.

Bristol City, however, responded decisively and equalized in the 16th minute when a deep cross from the right wing was volleyed across the face of goal by Ross McCrorie, and Riis, a summer signing, fired home from close range.

A well-executed move in the ninth minute resulted in Ross McCrorie’s shot from inside the penalty area being blocked.

McRorie was again a top performer on the day, and in the 32nd minute, he headed another cross from the right post across the penalty area, and Anis Mehmeti beat Ivor Pandur.

Ris equalized for City in the 18th minute after Zak Vyner passed to McCrorie at the far post, who played the ball to Riis, who scored.

Riis then went close again, forcing a superb close-range block before Gelhardt blocked the shot from the opposite side.

Mehmeti doubled City’s advantage after Twine passed to McCrorie, who again dribbled past the defender – and headed it back across the face of goal, for Mehmeti to fire from close range.

Ris took advantage of a powerful cross, outplayed defender Charlie Hughes, and surged forward unimpeded, firing in a low right-footed shot that put the hosts up 3-0 in the 42nd minute, slotting the ball into the bottom corner, past Ivor Pandur. Ris started the second half brilliantly, hitting the crossbar in the 53rd minute after a well-timed move. Gerhard Struber made his first substitution of the afternoon two minutes later, with Yu Hirakawa replacing Mark Sykes. Hull City created a good chance in the 59th minute, but Vitek made two excellent saves, keeping out shots from Cody Drameh and Ola McBurnie. Max Bird sealed the decisive victory by firing a shot off the underside of the crossbar from Mehmeti’s cross in the 78th minute, and then substitute Kyle Joseph scored the consolation goal in stoppage time, following a pass from Ola McBurnie.

Gelhardt’s early goal only ignited the hosts’ exciting first-half play. Jason Knight had a low shot from 25 meters saved in the sixth minute, and McCrorie was blocked before Riis equalized.

Gelhardt and Joel Ndala both had shots deflected to safety after Hull counterattacks, but the Tigers spent much of the first half desperately trying to repel the home side’s attack.

The impressive Riis almost completed his hat-trick in first-half stoppage time, his shot from an angle deflecting off a defender and into the side netting.

Hull made a substitution early in the second half, introducing Joseph for Ndala, and had early opportunities to reduce the deficit. Akintola fired a right-footed shot wide of the near post before Regan Slater forced Vitek into a quick save.

Riis again came close to scoring when his shot from a tight angle deflected off the crossbar. At the other end of the pitch, Vitek made a superb save, diving to his right and saving McBurnie’s header from an extended position.

Riis started the second half brilliantly, hitting the crossbar in the 53rd minute after a well-worked move. Gerhard Struber made his first substitution of the afternoon two minutes later, with Yu Hirakawa replacing Mark Sykes.

Hull City created a good chance in the 59th minute, but Vitek produced two brilliant saves.

Mehmeti should have sealed the win in the 60th minute, hitting the crossbar with a shot from 11 meters out while unmarked. However, Hull continued to pose a threat in attack, and Vitek again did well to keep out Joseph’s shot.

A minute later, Mehmeti hit the crossbar, and Regan Slater headed over the bar from close range for the Tigers.

Vítek made another excellent save in the 66th minute, keeping out Slater’s shot.

Bird made way for Scott Twine in the 71st minute and immediately influenced the score, scoring seven minutes later. McCrorie and Mehmeti worked well together down the left wing before Bird found Bird in the penalty area, whose shot deflected off the crossbar and into the net for the Tigers’ fourth goal.

Substitute Yu Hirakawa had a shot blocked for Bristol City after a powerful run by Riis, then sent a powerful shot just over the crossbar as both sides continued to create chances in a thrilling match.

Vitek had to make a few more saves, while substitute Fally Mayulu’s shot narrowly missed the Hull goal, and Bird fired in from distance, which Joseph then scored for Hull in the final minute.

Joseph scored from outside the box in stoppage time, but City held on to their lead and secured their first league win of the season at Ashton Gate.

Both teams were really good on the day, and it was a very good game of football this weekend.

The Robins will play away to Sheffield Wednesday in their first match after the international break on September 13th.
