In the 2022/2023 season, the best team of PKO BP Ekstraklasa turned out to be Raków Częstochowa, who dethroned Lech Poznań. The charges of coach Marek Papszun sealed the success three rounds before the end of the competition. For the Częstochowa club, it is the first title in history.
In the last match of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa at the 8,000-seat Rakow stadium at 83 Bolesława Limanowskiego Street in Częstochowa, on 27 May, the last meeting of the season 2022/2023 took place there , Raków Częstochowa tied with Zagłębie Lubin 1:1. The fans cheered brilliantly throughout the match and also thanked the players , and later also the coach Marek Papszun for his successful work, and later celebrated the Polish championship together with the team.

On the 18` minute, Marcin Cenula’s charge was interrupted by Zagłębie defenders.
In the 23` minute Trelowski showed off a great intervention, defending Kurminowski’s shot from close range. No goals were scored until the break and both teams went to the changing rooms with a goalless draw.
Zagłębie, who had won their last four games in the league, also had their opportunities. Kacper Chodyna’s strike was blocked at the last minute, but Dawid Kurminowski was stopped by the youth player standing between Rakov’s posts, Kacper Trelowski.
The beginning of the second half was not abounding in goal actions , but finally we lived to see in Częstochowa goals scored and everyone could be satisfied . Before the goals were scored we still had interesting situations in the match. In the first minutes there was not much excitement. More energy was felt from the stands. There, the supporters of both sides were definitely not in love with each other. Not much happened on the pitch after the break. Raków did not go on the attack as they did in the first half. Zagłębie, on the other hand, held onto the ball, but were unable to penetrate under Trelowski’s goal.
The encounter was so “dynamic” that for more than 70 minutes neither team was punished with a yellow card. The temperature changed when the first goal was scored .
In the 73` minute, the visitors took the lead thanks to Tomasz Pieńko, who fired a flat shot. The ball still bounced off the leg of one of the defenders and fell into the net.
76` Only three minutes later Raków Czestochowa responded with an equalising goal . Berggren got to the ball which was being trotted out and beat Dioudis.
Raków awoke after the hit. Czestochowa’s players had several opportunities to get into the lead at the end of the game. This was the case, for example, with an action carried out by the reserve, Bartosz Nowak. However, the former Górnik Zabrze player failed to direct the ball into the goal.
Ultimately, the match ended in a draw, after which the team from Limanowskiego began celebrating the Polish championship for hours.
For the first time in history, a league triumph was shared by Rakowo Częstochowa, who in the final round bidding farewell to outgoing coach Marek Papszun, tied with Zagłębie Lubin 1:1. After the final whistle, the national champions received the main trophy and commemorative medals from the hands of Ekstraklasa SA president Marcin Animucki.

There was also the whole staff, the players, all the people at the club, starting with the presidents, sports directors and ending with the lady who has been making sure that the outfits are properly clean here for many years.
